Common Shopify problems we help prevent or fix
Cart or checkout breaks after a change
Upsell pop-ups, cart drawers and bundle apps all change the cart. Two of them together can stop the checkout button working. We run through the path from product page to checkout after changes and trace problems back to their source. Our checkout troubleshooting guide walks through the first steps.
Apps that leave code behind
Uninstalling a Shopify app doesn't always remove snippets it added to your theme. Over time those leftovers slow pages and cause odd errors. We review apps with you and clean up what's left behind.
Shipping zones that don't match where you sell
A new product without a weight, or a region missing from your shipping zones, can mean "no shipping rates" at checkout. We check settings when products and markets change.
Theme customizations lost on update
Editing theme code directly makes theme updates risky. We keep track of customizations and work on a duplicate theme before publishing changes.
Product and collection busywork
New arrivals, seasonal collections, sale prices and sold-out items. These are the small edits your plan covers.
What this looks like in practice
A typical example: you want to add a holiday gift collection and a free-shipping banner. We duplicate your live theme, add the banner and collection there, preview it on mobile, add a test product to the cart and step through checkout, then publish. Shopify runs the hosting and checkout system itself, so our work focuses on your store's theme, apps, products and settings.
Plans at a glance
Three flat monthly plans, month-to-month. $0 and discounted builds need a 12-month plan. Cancel anytime online or by emailing hello@keptweb.com.
- Basic, $49/mo: uptime monitoring every 5 minutes, monthly checks of forms, key links and connected apps or integrations, copies of your key content using Shopify's export tools where available, a monthly review of who has access to your site, 1 small edit per month, and a reply target of 2 business days.
- Growth, $99/mo: everything in Basic, plus weekly site checks and theme and app changes reviewed before they go live, up to 4 small edits per month, Google Business Profile updates, 1 blog post per month, and a reply target of 1 business day.
- Pro, $149/mo: everything in Growth, plus up to 10 small edits per month, 2 blog posts per month, basic SEO, and a same-business-day reply target for requests received by 2 pm PT, Mon–Fri.
- Shopify runs the hosting, platform software updates and its own backup or version-history tools, so on Shopify sites we don't do plugin or core updates; our plans focus on content, checks and improvements instead.
A small edit is a change that takes about 30 minutes or less, such as updating text, swapping an image, or changing hours or prices. New website builds: Starter $349, or $0 with any 12-month plan; Business $849, or $0 with a 12-month Growth or Pro plan; Store $1,849, or $499 with a 12-month Pro plan. $0 and discounted builds need a 12-month plan; if you cancel early, you pay only the unpaid part of the build fee (see how it's calculated).
Frequently asked questions
How do you get access to my Shopify store?
You add us as a staff or collaborator account with the permissions you choose. You stay the store owner and can remove us at any time.
Can you fix problems inside Shopify's checkout?
Shopify controls the checkout system itself. We handle what's in your store (theme, apps, shipping, discounts and settings) and help you work with Shopify Support for anything inside checkout or payments.
Do you build Shopify stores?
Yes. Our Store build covers up to about 25 products: $1,849 build only, or $499 with a 12-month Pro plan.
Do you handle product photography or inventory counts?
No. We upload and format the photos and details you send, but stock counts and fulfillment stay with you.
Do plugin updates apply to Shopify?
Shopify updates its own platform, so there are no core or plugin updates to run. We review apps and theme updates instead.
